Robinson shows class at Motocross event

New Zealander James Robinson rode his bike with great aplomb to speed
away with top honours in Class A on a day of thrills and spills at
Saturday’s 2011 Total Motocross International Championships at Preak
Leap race track on the outskirts of Phnom Penh.

Navigating the
rugged terrain with relish, the Kiwi finished ahead of Thailand’s
Pakasith, who had a margin to spare over local favourite Pierre-Yves
Catry.

The Cambodian interest was well sustained in Class B when
Iv Leng produced a masterful jump finish to signal his win ahead of
fellow countryman Vong Ching Chov. Malaysia’s Zakaria Meki took third
place.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Craig Steven Fundak kept two local
riders at bay to grab the top prize in Class C. Than Chamroeun and Lim
Pheng chased the winner hard to snatch podium places.

In an
all-Cambodian affair, Chea Lykheang finished at the top of Class D,
pushing Seang Makara and Pov Piseth down the pecking order.

The MTB class saw local motorheads Seng Makara, Long Vannara and But Chhoeun fill the top three spots.
