Suthep, Thawil fly to Phnom Penh

Deputy PM and Democrat Party secretary-general
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban and National Security Council
secretary-general Thawil Pliensri made an urgent trip to Phnom Penh on
Thursday morning.

Reports
said the country’s two top security officials are expected to meet
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen to discuss the strained relations
between the two countries.

Mr Suthep and Mr Thawil will return to Bangkok this evening.

Kampuchea Thmey Daily reported that Cambodian government spokesman Khieu Kanharith denied knowing anything about the Hun Sen-Suthep meeting. However, another unnamed high-ranking government official confirmed that there is a secret meeting between Mr. Hun Sen and Mr. Suthep, but refused to elaborate.
