Rong Chhun, chairman of Cambodian Watchdog Council, will lead a delegation to visit Cambodian-Vietnamese border in Kamchay Mear district of Prey Veng province in the beginning of January next year.

He told DAP News on Thursday afternoon that he plans
to lead a delegation to inspect border post Nos. 130 and 131 in Kamchay
Mear in Prey Veng province in January, but did not give a specific date.

On 5th December, Mr. Rong Chhun has led a delegation to inspect border post Nos. 108 and 109 in Memot district
in Kampong Cham province after villagers claimed that the posts were
planted inside Cambodian territory. He said during the inspection that
he found the posts were actually planted 500 metres deep inside Khmer
territory.

Mr. Rong Chhun, a fierce critic of the government’s
border policies, was jailed for 96 days in 2005 after he criticised the
ratification of the 1985 Supplemental Treaty with Vietnam in 2005.
